Interest
in biomedical imaging research is growing in Malaysia. In most
universities in Malaysia, there are research groups working in this
very interesting and diversified field, be it on structural imaging,
functional imaging, digital pathology, or 3D modeling. Due to this, we
are planning for a winter school that touches on the recent advances in
biomedical imaging, delivered by prominent national and international
speakers.
The
5-day program will cover all aspects of biomedical imaging, from basic
topics such as PACS/DICOM, image registration, structural imaging,
functional imaging and 3D modeling, to advanced topics such as fusion
imaging, digital pathology, image-guided procedures, deep learning and
big data in biomedical imaging. For each topic, recent advances in
their domain will be the main focus. Besides the regular lecture
session, there will also be a dedicated session to meet local
radiologists, a poster session for partcipants to showcase their
current work, a forum among the speakers to discuss a particular topic
of interests, and last but not least, a session on how to write a good
biomedical imaging article.
At
the end of the school participants will be exposed to the fundamental
and advanced knowledge in the broad field of biomedical imaging.
Participants would be able to create better solutions and explore
greater perspectives in their domains of interest within this growing
field of research.
